Elian, Elian

Many people on both sides accuse the other side of turning it into a political issue. Those refusing to give Elian back to his father because of the country he is from, they are the ones who are inherently making it a political issue. They are the ones putting political philosophy above the father's rights.

I do not understand for one second this nonsense about a court hearing to determine whatis best for the child. What is best for the child is to be determined by his father. What is best for the child is none of our business, unless we have some evidence that the father would harm the child. And on that front, we have no evidence whatsoever. So it is none of our business. It is only the father's business.

But all I know for sure is that if Janet Reno were King Solomon, this baby would have been cut in two by now.

"It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt."
