I Am Gonna

Chris Nandor

I don't know where I am gonna be
I don't know where I am gonna be
Five minutes or five years from now
Don't ask me when why where or how
I don't know where I am gonna be

I don't know what I am gonna drink
Beer or juice or milk or coke
Hard whiskey with a pack of smokes

I don't know who I am gonna kiss
A man or woman or a goat(1)
I'll stick my tongue right down their throat

I don't know how much I'm gonna bet
Five hundred ain't that big a score
I'll prob'ly bet five million more

I don't know what game I'm gonna play
Rollin' up rats and lollipops
Or stealing cars and shooting cops

I don't know what joke I'm gonna tell
A priest and rabbi have an act
The call themselves aristocrats

I don't know where I am gonna live
A giant house up in the hills
A decahedron up on stilts

I don't know when I am coming home
When I'm done with where I'm at
When I begin to miss my cat

I don't know what I am gonna think
Today I'll be heretical
Tomorrow, turn conventional

I don't know what I am gonna do
I don't know what I am gonna do
I'm not there yet so I can't tell
But you can all just go to hell
If you(2) want to tell me what I can't do

Footnotes

(1) I used "goat" because "dog" doesn't rhyme with "throat."
(2) "you" applies to everyone except for my wife.
